Wink'd is a fun, savvy social card that lets you make new connections with strangers, future dates, future flings, future partners or even simply future friends. See someone you want to get to know more? Just hand them a Wink'd card and walk away... If they're intrigued, they can make a connection back to you by logging online at www.winkd.me and using your written or scanning code which links them directly to your online profile. It's online dating that begins offline!
Step 1 | Choose your cards
Choose the messages that you want on your cards from our ready-made collection of messages or by customising your own! Messages are available in English, French, Spanish, Italian and German.
Your deck of cards will be delivered to you in a few days!
Step 2 | Go out and Wink!
Next time you bump into someone who catches your attention, casually drop off one of your Wink'd cards and walk away. You can let the card do the talking for you.
No more reason for you to miss a connection!
Step 3 | Wait for the connection back
If that special someone is intrigued, he or she can look you up on
www.winkd.me, either type in your written code or scan your QR code using a mobile phone, and be directed to your Wink'd profile.
That special someone is then invited to send you a message through the Wink'd messaging system, which is safe and anonymous for both you and the person you Wink'd at.
Step 4 | Whatever you want!
After the connection is made, well, the rest is really up to you! Step 4 can easily be a telephone call, a coffee, a drink, a dinner, a movie - and a million other things!
Wink'd just lets you get there in a fun, new way.
Omar Karar | Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Businessman by day and dater by night, Omar Karar is as comfortable with intrigue as he is with investments. When not working at his day job at a private equity firm, Omar is delving into all the adventures that London has to offer. Omar has worked as an investment banker with JPMorgan in New York, and graduated with honours from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.
Yet Omar's skills extend beyond the boardroom. He has appeared on NBC to provide dating tips, has romanced women in numerous continents (but never more than one at the same time!) and has delved into a pursuit of passion. The result is Wink'd, where Omar serves as CEO.
Ralph Stenzel | Chief Technology Officer
They say music is the language of romance and love. No one knows better on the Wink'd team than Chief Technology Officer Ralph Stenzel, who composes music when not designing web platforms. Ralph came to Wink'd as an experienced technical development and project manager.
Prior to starting his own technology firm, Ralph was a Senior Technology Manager at Deloitte and Touche LLP overseeing an international web platform. He also worked with Siemens AG, Lexis-Nexis and STR Global in roles ranging from technical consultant and project manager to director.
Danae Mercer | PR and Marketing Associate
A student at Cambridge University, Danae has lived and romanced all over the world. She graduated with a BA in politics and journalism from Creighton University. Then Danae packed her bags and headed to the Middle East, where she worked as a staff writer for ABODE Magazine in Doha, Qatar.
Currently Danae helps manage the social media and marketing division of Wink'd. Go check out the blog for examples of her stuff. Or better yet, get offline. Go Wink.

I've subscribed to Wink'd and just received my package of cards. What do I do with them?
Each of your Wink'd cards has your unique written code and your unique QR code. Recipients of your cards will be able to access your Wink'd online profile by either:
* Going to the www.winkd.me home page, entering your written code in the blank field, and clicking 'Who is it?'
* Scanning your QR code with their mobile device (e.g. Blackberry or iPhone)
So what do you do with these cards? Get out there, meet new people, and 'Wink' at them by dropping off your cards when you want to introduce yourself to someone but want a fun, different and savvy way of doing so!

I received a Wink'd card. What do I do with it?
Nice! If you have been a lucky recipient of a Wink'd card, it means someone wants to talk to you / meet you / get to know you. So learn more about them by either:
* Going to the www.winkd.me home page, entering the written code that you can find on the front of the card in the blank field, and clicking 'Who is it?'
* Scanning the QR code that you can find on the back of the card right then and there with your mobile device (e.g. Blackberry, iPhone, Andriod or Symbian)
Learn more about them through their online profile.
If it's your first time receiving a Wink'd card and you wish to send the person a message, you will need to provide some basic information so that we can make that happen. Specifically, you will be prompted to set up a free account (at no charge!) with just a user name (which, if you send a message, that person can see), a password (which will remain completely private) and a working email address (which will also remain completely private). Once you do that, you will then be able to send a message to the person who Wink'd at you using our internal messaging system, and we will be able to alert you when they respond back to you.
In the future, when you return to the site to respond back to the person or because you have been Wink'd by another admirer (lucky you!), then all you have to do is input the written code or scan the QR code and sign in.
You can check out all your correspondence by clicking on 'Inbox' in the top left-hand corner of the screen.
If I respond to the person who gave me a card, will they see my email address?
Not at all. They will only see the user name you chose. Your email address will be kept private and will only be used to enable messaging within the site.
How much does it cost to send someone a message through the Wink'd website?
It's free!
How does Wink'd treat personal information and privacy?
Wink'd does not share your personal information with third parties! And when you send messages, your email address will be kept private and will only be used to enable messaging within the site.
Find out more about our privacy policy here.
How does the auto-billing work?
You will be billed each month according to the day that you signed up for the service.
How do I delete my account and membership?
Click on 'Profile' and then 'Cancel membership' on the lower left-hand corner of the page. You will be asked if you wish to maintain your profile free of charge. Click 'No'. Your account and membership will be deleted.
Can I delete my full or trial membership but maintain my profile free of charge?
Yes, you can. When you click on 'Cancel membership', you will be asked if you wish to maintain your profile free of charge. Click 'Yes'. Your full or trial membership will be cancelled but you will be able to maintain your profile free of charge.
You can use this profile to check out other members' Wink'd profiles if you are given a Wink'd card.
